Karishma Girl’s Home houses 23 beautiful girls between the ages of 7-15 years. They are originally from the states of Bihar and Orissa. Prior to coming to the home they lived in abject poverty, subsisting on one meal a day of plain rice and water. They were extremely malnourished and suffered with multiple physical ailments. They were also quite illiterate. Today they are healthy and active girls. They love school and work really hard at it. All of them are at the top of their grades!
All the girls have one thing in common; they come from extremely impoverished families. Almost all of them were extremely malnourished when they arrived at the Home and suffering with illnesses. After a lot of prayer, nutritious food and some medical attention, by God’s grace the girls are healthy and flourishing. Some of the girls are orphans and some are from single family homes.
We are in the process of raising individual sponsors for each child. It will cost $40 per month to meet all the basic needs of a child which includes food, clothing, schooling costs, and medication till the child reaches adulthood.
If you are interested in taking care of a child please return the commitment form. We will then send you a bio and photograph of your child. Thank you so much,
With much gratitude,
KARISHMA GIRL’S HOME

A SOBERING TRUTH
Chronic disease, bloodshed, severe poverty, unsanitary water and food sources, restrictive population control (abortion of the girl child) and societal devaluation of the female children have all contributed to a tragedy of monumental proportions in India that are largely left untreated by the government. All the children in Karishma Girl’s Home have experienced some or all of the above.
While these girls and millions more in India are forsaken by their own, they are not forgotten by their Jesus Christ. His justice covers the orphan. “Do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan. If you do and they cry out to Me, I will certainly hear their cry.” Exodus 22:22-23.
“For the Lord your God is the God of gods and the Lord of Lords…….He executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and shows His love for the alien by giving Him food and clothing.” Deuteronomy 10:17-18, NASB.
God promises His love and protection to the orphan… “For in you the orphan finds mercy” Hosea 14:2c, NASB. “Learn to do good; Seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.” Isaiah 1:17 NASB.
The theme of taking care of the widow and the orphan is consistent in the Bible. The Lord tells us very clearly that we are to give and take care of the orphan. “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27.
